A mistake that amateur golfers sometimes make is trying to imitate the swing of a tour player. Often, when an amateur tries to copy their favourite tour player’s swing, they over rotate the hips and shoulders, and will have little chance of improving.
There are a few things to remember about the differences between tour players and amateurs. Tour players hit thousands of balls per week and work very hard in the gym to improve their physical capabilities. Amateur players just don’t have the time to hit thousands of balls and often don’t possess the physical fitness.
So the recommendation is not to try and swing it like a tour player. You will see a greater improvement if you swing the club within your own physical capabilities as this will allow a better tempo and rhythm to your swing.
