Cure that slice!

A common shot by amateur golfers is the dreaded slice, which often leads to missing fairways and greens.
The swing fault which tends to cause the slice is the over the top move on the down-swing which results in an out-to-in swing path and open club face.

The angle of attack into the ball tends to be steep which generates more spin onto the ball resulting in loss of distance.
A good method to cure the slice is to shorten the backswing so that it’s easier to direct the club travelling to the ball.
You need to try and get the club travelling in-to-out so it would be similar to a tennis forehand topspin shot. This will also allow the club to travel at a shallow angle of attack which will produce less spin onto the ball, resulting in more distance.
