Chris Meyer and Paul Van Roghen, who were runners-up in the third week of the African & Eastern Monday Madness Night Golf Series competition at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) went one better in the fourth week clinching first place with a nett score of 28.5.
Alan Vandewater and playing partner Andrew Wyman took second place with a score of 31.2 nett while the duo of Murtuz Zamanly and Wayne Giles came third with 32.9 nett. There was added excitement when Giles achieved a hole in one on the 12th hole using a six iron for the 136-yard shot from the gold tee.
The win puts Meyer and Van Roghen at the top of the series leaderboard with nine points while third-placed Zamanly and Giles are in second place overall with eight points.
Over 30 players competed in the ‘3 x 3 Rumble’ competition which required golfers to play the first three holes in the betterball medal format, the next three in the greensomes format and the final three in the pairs scramble format. The event was held in perfect weather conditions with a slight breeze and low humidity.
The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge.
