The game of golf is based around a foundation of honesty and good etiquette. Before you venture out onto the golf course for the first time, here are a few tips that will ensure your round is hassle-free.
* Always be aware of the golfers around you. Both the ones you are playing with and in other groups. If you see a person about to take a shot, it is best to stand still and keep quiet.
* Try to keep up with the group in front. If you lose ground and have players waiting behind, it is polite to call them through.
* Repair any divots and pitch marks you make and rake the sand if you have been in a bunker.
* On the green be aware of your shadow over someone else’s ball and be careful not to stand on their line of putt.
l Enjoy the exercise and surroundings, so switch off your cell phone for a few hours, you will enjoy the round a lot more!
