A hole-in-one would be on every golfer’s bucket list and there are many people who never achieve the ultimate shot in their golfing lives while others manage to get more than their fair share!

Some interesting facts about hole-in-ones:

  • The first ever recorded hole-in-one was in 1868 by Tom Morris Junior in the Open Championship in Scotland.

  • The chances of an ace for the average golfer is approximately 12,000 to 1 and for the amazing feat of two aces in one round is an astonishing 67 million to one (it has been done).

  • A hole-in-one on any hole is remarkable, but a hole-in-one on a par 5 even more so (again, it has been done) and would be named after one of the rarest birds, a Condor, representing 4 under par for the hole!

Tiger Woods has recorded 18 career hole-in-ones, but is still a long way short of American professional, Art Wall Junior, with 54 (45 on the pro tour).
