MASTERFUL Mohammed Hamad Al Aathem was the net overall winner of Friday’s Awali Golf Club’s singles stroke-play competition, sponsored by British Airways, with a net 65, gross 81, shortly ahead of runner-up Nasser Eid. The BA Medal winner prize was taken by Mohammed Salmeen with a gross of 72.
Flight One (0-10) had Mohammed Salmeen take first place with a net 66 and gross 72, ahead of Abdulla S Al Kaabi with net 67 and gross 75 (on countback).
Flight Two (11-18) first and second places went to Nevil Malao with net 66 and gross 84, and Nawaf Salem Al Noaimi with net 66 and gross 84, respectively.
Flight Three (19-36) saw first place go to Liz Kaila with net 67 and gross 106 with Anurag Bajaj in second with net 69 and gross 89.
Prizes for Nearest To The Pin went to Ali Al Kowari and club captain Paul Anderson.
As they have in the past, British Airways provided a generous prize table and refreshments.
