Awali Golf Club members enjoyed a Wednesday Night Social at the Driving Range with a selection of games putting their short game playing prowess to the test. Resident professional Rory Young set them a series of skill challenges with marks scored for nailing bunker shots and hitting a gong placed on the range.
The Awali Chipping Challenge is gaining legendary status, with players attempting to place a ball in each of the nine squares on a marked up grid in the lowest number of attempts. Young’s record is 11 and he’s challenging all-comers to beat his score at next month’s event.
The players also tucked into free hamburgers cooked by Captain Paul Anderson.
