Throughout the years of playing and teaching the game of golf I have seen so many people become frustrated with the game and themselves as they strive for perfection.
As many of you will know, golf is not such a game and we should give ourselves a little bit of breathing space.
Even Tiger Woods recently stated that if he can hit two perfect shots over a 72-hole tournament it’s been a good week for him. I don’t know about you but that makes me feel a bit better about missing a fairway or green.
I am not suggesting that you give up on trying to improve, we can all benefit from tinkering with our technical side, but I do believe if you create a boundary as an acceptable miss you will enjoy the game more, stress less and score lower.
To give you an idea Jordan Speith recently posted his acceptable misses with certain clubs.
Pitching Wedge – 15ft
7 Iron – 25ft
