My hat goes off to Britain’s army chief Sir Richard Dannatt for putting aside the politics of his job and standing up for his men when he recently claimed that post-war planning was ‘poor’ and that the presence of British troops in Iraq was hurting British global security worldwide.
It’s refreshing to see that someone as high up the chain of command as he is was prepared to put his job and reputation on the line in the interest of doing the right thing.
