THE battle to win the heart and minds of air travellers is hotting up over Bahrain's skies with Jazeera Airways announcing it would be the first airline to offer FREE flights from the kingdom to Kuwait and Dubai.
The offer is open to 35,000 economy class passengers travelling from Bahrain to either destination on a single or return journey by May 31.
The only additional cost incurred by a traveller is the taxes and fuel surcharge that amounts to a mere BD29 for an adult ticket if a return journey is booked to either destination for 'BD0'.
The airline's image manager Fawaz Al Sirri said: "We love offering low fares and empowering people to travel. It is for the first time in Middle East aviation history that Jazeera Airways is offering all flights from Bahrain to Kuwait and from Bahrain to Dubai for free.
"The offer applies to our double daily non-stop flights to Kuwait and Dubai, both one way and return. It is open to everyone including big and small families. Everyone is welcome to take advantage of this groundbreaking offer on jazeeraairways.com
"We fly from Bahrain to Kuwait and Bahrain to Dubai twice a day and all our flights are non-stop. We have over 35,000 seats on sale and offer tickets have to be purchased at least two days before the journey. It's definitely available to anyone in Bahrain as long as seats last."
The move comes just a few months after low-cost airline Bahrain Air launched with a number of great deals to entice flyers to try its service, including flights costing just BD5 to destinations including Dubai.
Kuwait-based rival low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways is also well known to offer low fares to all its destinations.
It was the first airline to introduce BD4 deals in 2005, BD1 deals last year, free flights for women in 2006 and now the first to offer 'free seats' from Bahrain.
The budget airline operates a fleet of new Airbus A320s, all fitted with the airline's signature leather seats.
It flies from Bahrain to Alexandria, Amman, Assiut, Beirut, Istanbul, Damascus, New Delhi, Luxor, Mashhad and Mumbai.
Connections are served via Jazeera Airways hubs in Dubai and Kuwait.
