LG Electronics, the world's largest air conditioner manufacturer, is aiming to make the most essential of Bahrain family home and business appliances more cost effective and 'green'.
Dealers AJM Kooheji and Sons last week launched its new 'Multi V' series of air conditioners in the kingdom highlighting 'its commitment to safeguard the environment'.
Director Mohammed Kooheji said: "Air conditioners accounted for the bulk of power consumption at 60 per cent followed by electronics equipments at 17 per cent and home appliances at 15 per cent.
"Due to climatic conditions prevalent in Bahrain, it is natural for this huge power consumption for air conditioners.
"The Tropical Multi V series has proved to cut down electricity consumption by 70 per cent."
Tropical Multi V is a heating and cooling system which makes it possible to operate cooling and heating as per customer requirements from the same outdoor unit, serving both cost and energy efficiency needs.
General manager Rawal Jain added: "This type of air-conditioners is suitable for high rise apartment buildings, private villas, offices and hotels.
"It can also work in high temperatures unlike regular units and is perfectly suitable for Bahrain's climate."
Tropical Multi V boasts a comprehensive range of models and designs, including the picture frame-style ARTCOOL series.
It offers piping facilities which reach up to 1,000m with elevation of 100m. The system features a central control system and an easy billing control which allows consumers to check individual and accumulated power consumption.
It also gives freedom of monitoring and controlling from remote areas through web-enabled services.
An advanced black box records operation data history for three minutes before system failure. It also conducts precise analysis and decisions as well as fast trouble-shooting.
