A common problem with teenagers is the issue of academic pressure.
Many adolescents go through a phase where they feel like they cannot give any more and simply feel small and useless.
This can lead to feelings of depression and even anxiety attacks. I know as I am one of those who usually feel upset and gloomy when the things that I love are not going the way that I originally planned. However, I know that in my heart and soul that I have to learn from my mistakes and just move on and try not to repeat them.
I once felt like a horse in a race that tried to keep up with the other horses but couldn't reach to the point that they were at. I remember clearly that my teacher, Ms Hanan, telling me that a horse has to fall at one point in its life to learn how to stay up.
This advice had a huge impact on the way I think and act and I will forever remember it and engrave it within my heart.
This advice I now share with my readers in the hope that you too will always keep trying and never give up, be it in your academic, social or general life.
We will all fail at some things in our life and that does not show weakness, however the way you rise up from the situation and move on gives a true indication about how strong a person really is. There is a well-known saying which is as relevant today as it was in the 19th Century:
'Tis a lesson you should heed,
Try, try again.
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try again.' - Thomas H. Palmer, Teacher's Manual (1840)
